Since 1946, the MU Counseling Center has provided professional mental health care for students at the University of Missouri.
Over the past decade, the Counseling Center has seen a consistent rise in the number of students seeking services. In addition to clinical services, the Counseling Center fields hundreds of consultation calls annually from students, parents, faculty and staff who are concerned about an MU student’s mental health or safety. Outreach efforts include training for students, faculty and staff on how to respond to someone experiencing mental health problems or an emotional crisis, as well as programs designed to empower students, build resilience, increase mental health knowledge and prevent suicide.
Gifts to the MU Counseling Center will increase the center’s ability to meet the rising need for professional mental health care for Mizzou students and will enhance programming designed to prevent mental health problems.
