Dean Of Education

Dr. Deborah "Deb" Carr Scholarship Fund

As Director of Charter Schools for the College of Education, three-time Mizzou alumna Dr. Deborah Carr exemplifies a True Tiger. The former Director of the MU Teacher Development Program, Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Department Chair of Educational, School & Counseling Psychology led college program evaluation and for DESE.  Serving on grant review teams and as a Missouri Quality Award examiner she demonstrated excellence.

Under her leadership, the UM-Columbia portfolio of charter schools grew from one closing school to six thriving charters with eleven school buildings and almost 5,000 students, located in some of Missouri's most challenged communities.

In honor of her accomplishments and on the occasion of her retirement, the Dr. Deborah Carr Scholarship Fund has been established. Eligible recipients will be graduates of one of the schools in the MU portfolio of charter schools. Carr Scholars will carry the banner of all future educators, one of excellence and of hope.
