A new scholarship has been established for Southwest Missouri high school seniors from Jasper, Newton, Barton, and McDonald counties who will be attending the University of Missouri to pursue a business degree at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business. The scholarship was created in memory of Alan Ritchie, formerly of Carthage and a 1980 graduate of Carthage High School, who passed away in 2008 at the age of 45 from multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer.
