Retired University Library Director, Jim Cogswell, quietly supported professional development for librarians and staff throughout his 14-year tenure. His giving was quite significant and will be missed! In honor of his service, alumni and friends have established the James A. Cogswell Librarian and Staff Professional Development Endowment. With tight campus budgets, it’s tempting to limit travel for training and involvement in professional organizations, but it is critical that our staff remain engaged with the larger library world. This fund will help University Libraries staff stay on top of the latest trends in a profession that is changing quickly and dramatically. It’s also a great way to say thanks to Jim for his years of leadership and generosity.
