Since assuming the role of associate dean for student programs in 2006, Dr. Brown has made important and enduring contributions to the medical student education program. In addition to her commitment to students, Dr. Brown’s accomplishments are recognized locally, regionally, and nationally. In 2014, she received the AAMC Central Group on Student Affairs Exemplary Service Award. MU medical students have repeatedly recognized Dr. Brown’s work, electing her as Graduation Investiture Marshal in 2015 and awarding her the Robert N. McCallum Student Advocacy award in 2008, 2014, and 2016. The Dr. Rachel Brown Medical Student Scholarship will support students in perpetuity, honoring her years of service.
