For more than 40 years, Dr. C. Lin Puckett has been an integral member of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Missouri. While his contributions to medicine are numerous, perhaps his most significant impact on the field of plastic surgery is his involvement in pioneering the integrated residency training model. This innovative apprenticeship model of surgical education revolutionized plastic surgery residency programs, providing the opportunity for real mentorship along with early and significant exposure to plastic surgery. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, the MU School of Medicine is establishing the C. Lin Puckett, M.D. Resident Education Endowment in Plastic Surgery to provide financial support to future residents.
