Georgeanne Porter served as Director of Admissions at Mizzou for many years. She loved the responsibilities and duties of the office and was a valuable member of the Mizzou family. Through her work at the University she met countless friends and colleagues who stayed close in her retirement years.
A scholarship is a meaningful way to honor Georgeanne, as she proudly demonstrated her commitment to Mizzou by investing in its students. Georgeanne developed relationships with countless students over the years, creating opportunities within the Office of Admissions for students to demonstrate their leadership potential. During her time as Director of Admissions, Georgeanne was instrumental in creating an organization called Outreach, a group of high-achieving Mizzou students who traveled to high schools to recruit prospective students to attend Mizzou, with a focus on attracting minority students. For the formative opportunities she created for undergraduates, this scholarship honors Georgeanne’s legacy of commitment to student development and success that continues at Mizzou.
