International Faculty Collaboration Grant Fund

In 2015, Dr. Jere Gilles was supported with a small grant from the CAFNR International Faculty Collaboration Grant Program to travel to Bolivia to work with colleagues to develop a research proposal on managing climate risk in the Andes. With the seed funds from CAFNR, Dr. Gilles and colleagues were able to garner foundation support to implement their research over three years. The CAFNR International Faculty Collaboration Grant Program was conceived to stimulate international activity that enhances the teaching, research and/or outreach mission of the college. Because we know of instances where international experiences have been “life-changing experiences” for faculty and students, the CAFNR International Programs (CIP) organizes the dean’s annual support and donor’s generous gifts to: (a) Enhance promising collaborations, and or (b) Stimulate value-added activity in existing collaborations that might generate added funding or “next-level” activity on a “priority issue.” Once a year, faculty members make the case for her/his project in two pages or less with the potential of receiving up to $7,500. You, too, can help grow CAFNR’s international impact and research agenda by growing this research fund today.
