Rod Gelatt – long-time faculty member and “the voice” of broadcast journalism at Missouri – died Jan. 19 at his home in Arizona. Friends and colleagues are raising funds to create a brass plaque to honor Rod’s legacy at Mizzou. Rod was news director at both KOMU and KBIA. He brought the Missouri Method to KOMU so that students could “learn by doing” at the station in the roles of reporter, anchor and producer. If Rod mentored you in school, or if you simply recognize his contributions to local journalism, please consider a donation that echoes your appreciation of Rod’s legacy.
