As director of graduate studies in the university's Human Development and Family Studies department for 18 years, and serving as department chair for 18 years, Dr. Marilyn Coleman has mentored hundreds of students.
During the National Council on Family Relations annual conference held November 2013, Dr. Coleman received the Felix Berardo Mentoring Award, which is given to an NCFR member whose work has been noted for excellence in mentoring one or more junior colleagues.
In addition to the honor of receiving the award, a monetary gift was presented. Typical of Dr. Coleman's generosity, she is donating her cash award to the Marilyn Coleman Alumni Graduate Scholarship in HDFS and has offered to match all contributions up to $5,000. We invite you to rise to this challenge and honor Dr. Coleman by contributing to the alumni graduate scholarship.
Growing the scholarship fund will assist in continuing to attract outstanding graduate students from throughout the nation and world.
