In honor of Clay J. Anderson Jr., MA '50 economics and business, his family and friends established the Clay J. Anderson Memorial Scholarship. Economics majors that have demonstrated excellence in their studies of economics are eligible for the scholarship.
Anderson began his investment career at E.W. Axe & Company of Tarrytown, N.Y. In 1955, he joined Wellington Management Company in Philadelphia. In 1967, Anderson was elected a director of Drexel, Harriman, Ripley Inc., of Philadelphia and from 1963-69, he was portfolio manager and vice president of Drexel Equity Fund Inc. In 1969, Anderson and three partners founded the investment counseling firm of Miller, Anderson & Sherrerd.
