David Loschky Scholarship

Professor David J. Loschky, BA '56 economics, made far-reaching contributions to the university, the Department of Economics, his undergraduate and graduate students, and to the entire economics profession during his time at MU. He researched transition theory and the scientific method as it applies to economics, and together with William C. Wilcox, he published an influential paper in Demography titled "Demographic Transition: A Forcing Model."

Loschky retired in 1998. Family, friends and former students have established this endowed fund to honor Loschky's memory and continue his work.

This fund will provide much-needed scholarships to economics students. Many students depend on scholarships to afford tuition and thrive in their studies. Please consider making a gift in remembrance of Professor Loschky. For questions regarding gifts of stock or other types of giving, please contact the Arts & Science Development Office at 573-882-4421. All contributions count toward membership in the Jefferson Club.
