Given in honor of Marilyn Sanford Hargrove, Class of 1965, to a student who is dedicated to scholarly activity, clinical excellence and has a strong desire to serve the profession and the community.
Marilyn was a trailblazer in physical therapy and a cherished leader at the University of Missouri. A graduate of Mizzou's first physical therapy class in 1965, she became a beloved faculty member and eventually served as program director. Her unwavering commitment to teaching and mentorship inspired generations of students and shaped the future of the profession.
Marilyn’s vision extended well beyond the classroom. She established the Marilyn Sanford Hargrove Scholarship to support students who exemplify scholarly excellence, clinical expertise and service to the profession and community.
