More than 60 years ago, a group of Springfield area physicians began entertaining medical audiences with their unique musical performances. This hilarious and talented group performed musical medical parodies at medical meetings across the state and nation.
Over the years, more than $750,000 has been raised in support of the Singing Doctors of Springfield Scholarship fund. In celebration of the fund, which has supported hundreds of medical students from southwest Missouri over six decades, we’ve set a goal to increase the endowment to $1.1 million, which would provide additional support to deserving medical students, who currently face an average debt of more than $200,000 upon graduation.
