The University of Missouri (MU) has trained firefighters for more than 80 years. Through the Fire and Rescue Training Institute (FRTI), a premier unit of MU Extension, quality and accessible competency-based training is provided to Missouri’s fire service and emergency response personnel.
Every day, thousands of Missourians are aided by firefighters who received training through MU FRTI. The Institute’s students, in their career or volunteer roles as firefighters and emergency responders, are directly providing life saving measures and conserving property from fire and other disasters.
MU FRTI’s is seeking financial gifts to support the ongoing efforts aimed at meeting the education and training needs of Missouri’s firefighters. Over 70% of Missouri Firefighters volunteer their service to their local communities. To meet their needs, the Institute provides training at the local level, annually reaching students in all 114 counties in the state.
To streamline the process of accepting gifts targeted at supporting MU FRTI’s firefighter training mission, the Institute has established a Mizzou Gift Fund. Your contribution to this fund will help us provide training with the result of increasing community safety, through reduction of loss of life and property from fire and other emergencies all over our great state.
