Bond Life Sciences Center

Schultz Tribute

Jack C. Schultz is Director of the Christopher S. Bond Life Sciences Center at the University of Missouri where he fosters and develops interdisciplinary research among 400 researchers, whose interests range from plant breeding to gene therapy and electrical engineering.

Schultz has formed teams at MU drawn from the life and physical sciences, journalism, theater, social sciences, economics, art, and public relations communities to investigate ways to enhance scientific communication with the public. Faculty, administrators, postdocs, graduate students and undergraduates have all benefited from his drive and determination in encouraging them to fulfill their duty to communicate their science effectively to the public.

Dr. Schultz will retire from MU on July 1, 2017, and an Overcup Oak (Quercus lyrata), a native Missouri oak tree, would be a fitting tribute to plant on our grounds to commemorate his service and dedication to forwarding Science on behalf of Mizzou. The dedication will take place on Friday April 14, 2017 at 11a.m., in the McQuinn Atrium of the Bond Life Sciences Center.
