The Kent Collins Student Enhancement Fund honors Kent’s 35 years as a faculty member, news director and department chair at the Missouri School of Journalism.
For more than three decades, Kent was an incredible mentor to countless students. From his two stints as news director at KOMU to his many years of service as the chair of Radio-TV, Kent made it his mission to put students first and to stand up for strong, important journalism. With his long tenure at the school, literally all the Radio-TV alumni from Mizzou under the age of 50 have felt the impact of Kent Collins on their lives and careers.
The Kent Collins Student Enhancement Fund will support students pursuing careers in television news. Funds will support students in a variety of ways, from scholarships to attending professional meetings/conferences to pursuing reporting projects.
We encourage you to give an amount that honors Kent’s contribution to your own education and career. This permanent fund named in Kent’s honor will support students for generations to come.
