In 2008, the Sinclair School of Nursing lost one of its greatest assets with the retirement of Dean Rose Porter. She was a leader, a teacher, a mentor, and most importantly a champion and friend of the school. Her tireless efforts on behalf of the school are legendary. She always went the extra mile to ensure the school, the program, the faculty, staff, and students had the tools and opportunities to succeed. To recognize all that she has done and continues to do for the school, alumni and friends decided to use the “Take Stock in Our Faculty” campaign as a way to recognize Dean Porter with the establishment of an endowed faculty position in her honor. Three years later we are in the final stages of fulfilling our goal.
