The Missouri School of Journalism is home to the Alé Student Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. Our motto is "Strive for excellence by encouraging diversity, educating through mentorship and promoting unity in the field of journalism." We offer resume workshops, internship and scholarship information, and opportunities to build a rapport with journalism faculty and staff outside of the classroom. Since its creation in 2011, Unity Conference, one of our signature events, has grown bigger and better each year. The conference provides members with opportunities that will allow them to prepare for their next steps in the industry. Through different sessions, our members develop the tools necessary to succeed in the Journalism, Strategic Communication, and Digital Media industries. In the spring, we embark on a week-long tour to top media markets. We have visited companies such as NBC, Google, Edelman, Ogilvy and more. Through this immersive experience, students have been able to receive internship and job offers. We are working towards coordinating our core events for the coming school year and would appreciate any financial contributions. Thank you in advance for your donations to our programming!
