Mizzou Students Underwater Robotics Foundation (SURF) has a focus on designing, building and programming fully autonomous submarines for both competition and research. We are an interdisciplinary organization open to all majors and anyone with an interest in robotics, autonomy, design, electronics, coding, or swimming with robots! We have spent years working to ensure that once the submarine is in the water, it can accomplish each obstacle without additional help. SURF is continuously seeking support to help fund both the continuous electronic, mechanical, and software development of our submarines, as well as fund travel to our annual competition in Southern California.
Mizzou SURF was one of 39 teams from 10 different countries to successfully compete in the 2022 competition at the University of Maryland. We ranked 14th overall for our design documentation, 1st for our design presentation, 22nd for our technical design report, 14th for our video explanation of our sub, and 18th for our website. We plan on ranking even higher at the next competition!
