Don Ranly’s service to the Missouri School of Journalism, and to the industry, is legendary. Don taught at the J-School for 32 years, 28 as head of the magazine program. He has delivered more than 1,000 writing, editing and publishing seminars to professional organizations both nationally and internationally. Don’s reputation is unparalleled among former students and those in the journalism industry. Many remember “Ranly’s Rules” and have their own stories about how Don educated, inspired, challenged and in some cases terrified them.
To honor Don’s accomplishments and dedication, we are establishing the Don Ranly Magazine Scholarship, which will support students seeking a career in magazine journalism. We encourage you to give an amount that honors Don’s contribution to your own education and career. This permanent fund named in Don’s honor will support future generations of students.
