Shirley Farrah, BSN ‘66, PhD ’98, spent more than 40 years with the School of Nursing. As a beloved faculty member and leader, she taught thousands of students and helped even more nurses and health care professionals benefit from relevant, high-quality, evidence-based continuing professional education. Shirley worked tirelessly to bring programs to nurses who had limited time and resources to travel long distances for professional development.
As she retires, Shirley seeks to establish an endowment that will provide funding for a continuing education event through the Sinclair School of Nursing’s MU Nursing Outreach (MUNO) program. Specifically, the event will support the professional development of Missouri’s frontline clinical nurses, especially those in rural and underserved areas.
