A New Collaborative Space - Locust Street Student Lounge

One Building. Four Disciplines. Endless Possibilities for Collaboration and Community Building.

The departments of Economics, History, and the Truman School of Government and Public Affairs are moving into the newly renovated Locust Street Building at the corner of 7th and Locust. A result of Mizzou’s cost-saving space reduction plan, the move will foster greater interdisciplinary collaboration within the College of Arts and Science and enhance student experiences, teaching, inclusion, and research. First-class facilities attract and retain top students, faculty, and staff and strengthen community and connection. The only way to complete this renovation project is to combine University and philanthropic resources. University funding renovates the building and outfits office spaces. Philanthropy furnishes the addition of a student lounge that will be transformative for all students.

A gift to support the College of Arts and Science Facility Improvement Fund will give over 1,300 undergraduate and graduate students and at least ten student clubs and organizations a space that will become a hub for interdisciplinary community building, research and learning collaborations, and career exploration.
