Join us as the College of Education and Human Development observes National First-Generation Celebration Day on November 8th, 2023!
Throughout the month of November, we will be honoring the success of first-generation students, faculty, staff, and alumni and we invite you to take part in the celebrations by making a gift to the First-Generation Scholarship Fund in support of first-generation scholars. All gifts made to the fund via this page will be earmarked for first-generation students in the College of Education and Human Development.
First-generation students face many unique challenges to accessing higher education and without the support provided by scholarships, many scholars would not realize their dream of being the first in their family to obtain a degree. Gifts such as these can be transformational as first-generation success in higher education can equate to generational change in families and economic change within communities!
“It is because of these scholarships that I can pursue the career I want through education. I am making connections and accomplishing goals that I would never have known I was capable of doing if it weren’t for the support of this scholarship. I deeply appreciate the people who have donated and will always be thankful. It is because of you that I am able to continue this journey, and I could never be more grateful. Thank you.”
