Walter L. Johnson Opportunities for Excellence Fund in Economics

Walter L. Johnson received his doctorate from Duke University and then became a professor of economics at Mizzou in 1965. It is estimated that Johnson taught introductory economics to more than 40,000 students during his 33 years at MU. He received the MUAA Faculty Award in 1968 and participated in Omicron Delta Kappa, Alpha Kappa Psi, and the prestigious QEBH honor society. After a long and successful career, Johnson retired in 1998 and was awarded the distinguished title of professor emeritus.

Your generous gift to the Walter L. Johnson Opportunities for Excellence Fund will honor his many years of lively teaching and service to the department. This fund provides resources for scholarships, program support, faculty development, and more.
