The STRIPES program has provided over 200,000 safe, confidential rides home for MU students since 2001. Whether they’re working late, on a bad date, or know better than to drive, our program has ensured that Tigers arrive home safe and sound.
As of Spring 2024, STRIPES has been reinstated as a partnership with Uber for Business. Undergraduate and graduate students who pay the Student Activity Fee receive $10 per month to use on up to 2 trips from downtown Columbia to their residence, with the discount available during Fall and Spring academic sessions on Friday and Saturday nights.
The relaunch of this essential program does not come without cost, and while the Student Activity Fee is mitigating these discounts for now, it may not be sustainable long-term — especially if the program should continue to grow as we hope it will.
