Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences Student Travel Fund

Your gift makes it possible for Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences students to travel to state and national meetings to network and present research findings.

“The costs of attending conferences add up so quickly, but the SLHS travel fund let me share my research and represent our department without financial barriers. The SLHS travel fund reminded me that the department cares about its students and wants us to share and learn regardless of if we can pay to travel for conferences.” -E.T., BHS Student

“Because of the SLHS Travel Fund I was able to travel to a specialty conference and present research. I was able to represent the University of Missouri SLHS Department at a national conference and receive feedback and support from researchers across the country.”  -K.T., Doctoral Student

“As a college student, money is a constant stressor. I am so grateful for the SLHS Travel Funds that allowed me to virtually attend the Oxford Dysfluency Conference without burdening me with the cost!”  -L.D., BHS Student

“Being awarded the SLHS Travel Fund gave me the opportunity to attend a virtual conference where I was able to hear from speakers across the world and present the research I was a part of here at Mizzou. This conference was an amazing opportunity to learn more about the research going on in the field I hope to be a part of. I am grateful that the travel fund awarded me this opportunity!” -L.T., BHS Student

“The SLHS Travel Funds I received from the department allowed me to travel to and attend several professional conferences while I was a student at Mizzou. These conferences were great opportunities to network with other students and professionals and to learn about the latest research others are conducting. I also enjoyed the experience of presenting my own research and receiving feedback from others which helped shaped the direction of future lines of questioning for my master’s thesis project.” -A.G., MHS Alumna
