Kinder Alumni Council Scholarship

The Kinder Institute is a vibrant program, emphasizing scholarship, leadership, and community alike. Inspired by their Kinder experiences, a group of alumni is creating a scholarship to open the Institute's doors to even more students. This scholarship will aid students from diverse backgrounds and in a wide variety of degree programs deepen their understanding of constitutional democracy while expanding their post-graduate options by supporting participation in programs such as the DC Scholars program and the Oxford study abroad program. Your gift will help ensure these aims are an enduring legacy at the Kinder Institute.

Congratulations to our 2022 scholarship recipient, Paul Ambrose!

Paul is a senior in the Honors College at Mizzou, studying Constitutional Democracy (BA) and Economics (BA) with a minor in History. He spent the 2021-2022 academic year abroad, studying history in the United Kingdom as the Kinder Institute’s 2021-2022 Oxford Fellow. At Oxford, Paul competed for the University's ultimate frisbee team, helping them place 6th at the Men’s Indoor National Championship. He is also a former Kinder Fellow and D.C. Scholar. At Mizzou, Paul worked in a variety of jobs on campus, ranging from the University Archives and Ellis Library’s Special and Rare Books Department as a student assistant to the Mizzou Economics Department as a peer learning assistant. In 2019, Paul interned at the United States Senate, and in 2021, at the KIPP Foundation and the office of Mayor Quinton Lucas (Kansas City). He is currently interning this summer at the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center through the Peterson Foundation's Fiscal Policy Program. He currently serves as a senior editor for the Midwestern Citizen, an undergraduate op-ed publication. Paul is the founder and director of the Missouri Debate Union, an undergraduate debating society at Mizzou. He previously served as the Vice President of Mizzou’s Club Ultimate Frisbee team, a volunteer in Mizzou’s Disability Center, and an Honors College Ambassador. Outside of school, Paul is an avid reader who enjoys listening to podcasts, tracking global political and economic trends, and tossing frisbees with his friends.
