The Springfield National Cemetery is home to nearly 15,000 graves of American veterans, dating back to the Revolutionary War. This year, Lawrence County 4-H is giving back to those who served by raising money to ensure that every one of those graves is marked with an evergreen wreath on Saturday, December 16. Community service is a very important aspect of 4-H, and our 4-H members feel very strongly about this project. They have written applications for grants, hosted events, and are now asking for your contribution to this important work. Through your contributions, each veteran will have the proper recognition during the holidays. With the total cost of the project estimated to be over $100,000, each and every dollar counts.
Special thanks to Jack Henry for their employee donation campaign in partnership with this project.
