The Columbia Missourian has been covering local news for 116 years while training students to become journalists. The reporting skills our students learn through their Missouri Method training experience amplify often unheard voices and hold the powerful accountable.
Because we want to continue serving our communities and dig deeper into important stories, the Missourian has partnered with NewsMatch, a collaborative fundraising movement to support independent, public service journalism like ours. As part of this partnership, we hope to raise $15,000 for the Columbia Missourian Newsroom Support Fund by the end of the year. Gifts of all sizes make a difference, and the Missourian Publishing Board has generously offered to match up to $8,000 to double the impact. In addition, we will unlock an additional bonus match of $5,000 from the MacArthur Foundation if we meet our initial fundraising goal.
Your gift will directly support our newsroom operations. It will help fund travel for stories, cover FOIA costs, and expand our toolkits for covering the community.
